F25Warning

LG Refrigerator F25 Error Code

The defrost temperature sensor (thermistor) in the freezer is open or shorted. This sensor monitors evaporator coil temperature during defrost.

Common causes

  • Faulty defrost sensor (thermistor)
  • Loose or corroded wiring connector
  • Damaged wiring harness

How to fix it

  1. Unplug refrigerator and locate the defrost sensor (usually clipped onto the evaporator coil inside the freezer).
  2. Disconnect sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter; should be around 10k-15k ohms at room temperature (consult manual for exact specs).
  3. If reading is open (OL) or shorted (0 ohms), replace the sensor.
  4. Check connector pins for corrosion or damage; clean if needed.
⚠ When to call a pro: Call a technician if sensor tests good but code persists, as the main control board may be faulty.
