F1Warning

Maytag Oven/Range F1 Error Code

The oven temperature sensor circuit is open or has failed, preventing accurate temperature readings.

Common causes

  • Faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD)
  • Loose or damaged wiring to the sensor
  • Control board issue

How to fix it

  1. Turn off power to the range at the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power and see if error clears.
  2. If error persists, locate the oven temperature sensor (usually at the back of the oven cavity).
  3. Inspect the sensor probe for damage and check that the connector is securely plugged into the control board.
  4. Measure resistance of the sensor with a multimeter; at room temperature it should be around 1100 ohms. If open or shorted, replace sensor.
⚠ When to call a pro: If the sensor resistance is correct and wiring is intact but the error persists, the control board may need replacement.
