Whirlpool Dryer F02 Error Code
The thermistor (temperature sensor) is open or shorted, causing inaccurate temperature readings.
Common causes
- Faulty thermistor
- Loose or corroded wire connections to thermistor
- Short circuit in wiring
How to fix it
- Unplug dryer and remove lint screen housing to access thermistor.
- Check thermistor resistance with a multimeter (should be ~10kΩ at 77°F).
- Replace thermistor if readings are out of spec.
