Kenmore Washer F21 Error Code
The washer takes too long to drain (more than 8-10 minutes). Water remains in the tub.
Common causes
- Clogged drain pump filter or debris
- Kinked or blocked drain hose
- Faulty drain pump
- Faulty pressure switch or control board
How to fix it
- Unplug the washer and wait 5 minutes. Check drain hose for kinks or clogs.
- Clean the drain pump filter (usually at the bottom front behind a small access panel). Remove any debris.
- Ensure the drain hose is not inserted too far into the standpipe (max 4-5 inches).
⚠ When to call a pro: If the filter and hoses are clear and the error persists, call a technician. The drain pump may need replacement.
