The incoming water is too hot (above 140°F) or heater is overrunning.
Common causes
- Water heater set too high
- Faulty thermistor reading low
- Control board stuck heater relay
- Heater element shorted to ground
How to fix it
- Check water heater temperature; should be 120°F max.
- Let water run from sink to ensure temperature is stable.
- Test thermistor for correct resistance at known temperature.
