LG Dryer tE Error Code
The thermistor (temperature sensor) is faulty or has an open/short circuit, causing incorrect temperature readings.
Common causes
- Faulty thermistor
- Loose or damaged wiring to thermistor
- Control board communication issue
How to fix it
- Unplug the dryer and remove the back panel to access the thermistor (usually near the heating element/outlet).
- Disconnect the thermistor and measure its resistance with a multimeter (should be ~10k ohms at room temp).
- If resistance is out of range, replace the thermistor.
⚠ When to call a pro: Call a technician if the thermistor tests okay but the error returns, or if you suspect a control board fault.
