F9Warning

Hotpoint Oven/Range F9 Error Code

The oven temperature sensor has failed, causing erratic or no heating.

Common causes

  • Faulty oven temperature sensor
  • Loose connection at sensor or control board

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the range.
  2. Remove oven back panel and locate sensor.
  3. Check sensor resistance (should be ~1090 ohms at room temp).
  4. If resistance is out of spec, replace sensor.
⚠ When to call a pro: If sensor resistance is correct and connections are tight, call a technician for control board testing.
