F2Warning
Hotpoint Oven/Range F2 Error Code
The oven temperature sensor circuit is open, preventing the oven from heating correctly.
Common causes
- Faulty oven temperature sensor
- Loose or broken sensor wiring
How to fix it
- Unplug the range.
- Remove the oven back panel and locate the sensor (usually at the top rear).
- Check the sensor resistance with a multimeter; it should be about 1090 ohms at room temperature. If infinite, replace sensor.
- Inspect wiring for damage; reconnect if loose.
⚠ When to call a pro: If sensor resistance is correct but error persists, call a technician for control board diagnosis.
