F2Warning

Hotpoint Oven/Range F2 Error Code

The oven temperature sensor circuit is open, preventing the oven from heating correctly.

Common causes

  • Faulty oven temperature sensor
  • Loose or broken sensor wiring

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the range.
  2. Remove the oven back panel and locate the sensor (usually at the top rear).
  3. Check the sensor resistance with a multimeter; it should be about 1090 ohms at room temperature. If infinite, replace sensor.
  4. Inspect wiring for damage; reconnect if loose.
⚠ When to call a pro: If sensor resistance is correct but error persists, call a technician for control board diagnosis.
