SEWarning
Samsung Washer SE Error Code
Your Samsung washer can't drain. Despite the name ("Sensor Error"), SE/5E almost always means a drainage problem — the machine tried to pump the water out and couldn't finish.
Common causes
- Clogged debris/pump filter at the front-bottom of the washer
- Kinked, blocked or too-high drain hose
- Object (coin, lint, hairpin) stuck in the drain pump
- Excess suds from too much or non-HE detergent
- Less commonly, a faulty water-level pressure sensor or its hose
How to fix it
- Turn off and unplug the washer; turn off the water supply
- Open the small filter door at the front-bottom, put down a towel/tray and slowly drain the water
- Unscrew and clean the debris/pump filter; remove any coins, lint or objects
- Straighten the drain hose; make sure the standpipe it empties into isn't clogged
- Use less HE detergent to cut suds, then run a Rinse+Spin to test
- Unplug for 1-2 minutes to reset
⚠ When to call a pro: If SE/5E returns after cleaning the filter and hose, the drain pump or pressure sensor may have failed — call a technician.
