The oven temperature sensor (RTD) is detected as open or shorted.

Common causes

  • Faulty oven temperature sensor
  • Loose or damaged wiring to sensor
  • Control board failure

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the range for 5 minutes to reset.
  2. Check sensor resistance at room temperature (should be ~1100 ohms).
  3. Inspect wiring for breaks or burns.
⚠ When to call a pro: If sensor resistance is out of spec or wiring looks bad, replace the sensor. If error continues, call a technician for control board diagnosis.
