GE Refrigerator E4 Error Code
The defrost thermistor (detecting evaporator temperature) is faulty.
Common causes
- Failed defrost thermistor
- Wiring damage
- Water intrusion in connector
How to fix it
- Test defrost thermistor resistance (should be high at cold temps).
- Check for broken wires near evaporator.
- Replace if out of spec.
